Franz Reimer

Franz Reimer‘s immersive video installations reflect the mechanisms of the medial reality, in particular imagery in advertising and politics. With great motivation for the “aesthetic hallucination of reality“ (Jean Baudrillard) he endeavours to radicalise hidden qualities amongst the flow of images and to offer autonomy and control for the viewer in dealing with said images.

Franz Reimer (*1977) is a Berlin based german media artist. He studied visual co mmunication at the Duesseldorf University of Applied Sciences and ART AND MEDIA with Prof. Maria Vedder at the Berlin University of the Arts. Since a couple of years his works has been shown in exhibitions and festivals nationwide. His installation THE SITUATION ROOM (2013) has been exhibited at the Kassel Documentary Film and Video Festival, the European Media Art Festival and at the last year‘s exhibiti on Vertigo of Reality at the Akademie der Künste (Academy of Arts) Berlin.
