Katarzyna Gondek is a graduate of film studies and documentary of Wajda School. She is an author of films and literary forms. Gondek wrote and published two novels (“Horror Vacui” and “Otolith”, a poetry book (“Plexus”) and a collection of short stories. She is a hunter for the surreal. Her latest film works are “The Figure”, a poetic comedy about a gigantic plastic pope and “Hosanna”, a short narrative that also lightly deconstructs a few religious myths.
Right now, Gondek is working on a short fiction film, a Polish-Belgian co-production called “Deer Boy” and a documentary about disappearing memories (“Missis I”). Her films have been shown and awarded on numerous festivals all over the world. Gondek is the winner of the WARTO Award in the film category (2014), and was nominated for Baraczak literary scholarship award (2015).
